Pachamama – Mother Earth – is the goddess of fertility and the guardian of the surrounding world for the indigenous peoples of Latin America. But what, exactly, is our relationship with the land we spring from? Does it change when we hit the road? How does the experience of travel shape us?
With a suitcase full of sounds, tricks, and all sorts of oddities, a somewhat clumsy traveler steps onto the stage. He tries to find his footing in a new place. Only… is it truly new? Or might he already know it from somewhere?
In “Pachamama”, Cronopio uses humor, resourcefulness, and a healthy dose of surprises to take a closer look at what traveling really means – is it exploring the world, searching for one’s place, or above all, meeting others?
On this journey, you can’t do everything alone. Sometimes a helping hand is needed – which is why the audience becomes part of this extraordinary expedition.
Cronopio, or Mariano Gedwillo, is a clown, director, slackline artist, and juggler from Argentina with family roots in Latvia.
